Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production, quality, and cost objectives.
- Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.
- Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
- Develops schedules and Client requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Provide weekly updates to production schedules to the team and customer.
- Establish daily, weekly, monthly production build plan based on material availability, production capacity and priorities working in conjunction with the Production supervisor.
- Monitor and Oversee the execution of various productions builds per established plan. Review progress to plan and make course corrections as needed
- Interacts with planning, stockroom and purchasing teams as necessary to ensure availability and smooth flow of kits to production floor.
- Review, Plan and Provide Estimated Completion Dates (ECDs) for Order backlog for every Space craft Program.
- Collaborate with Test manager and Maintenance teams as needed to Schedule critical resources (eg: Vibration equipment and test chambers) based on ECD commitments , workload and build schedules to meet ECD dates
- Review Production capacities and identify capacity constraints proactively to initiate hiring decisions
- Work with HR department by interviewing and selecting suitable candidates needed in production based on the skill set needed
- Work with Program management as needed on new orders by being part of contract review
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field is preferred or Electronics assemblies AS degree, Electronics Technician
- Certificate or completion of Military Electronics training. Two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 5+ years experience in CM production preferable. Experience in the manufacturing of PCBA in a supervisory or Managerial position .Familiar with NPI/ Prototype builds in a high mix/ low volume environment.
- Understand material flow and shortages and product quality.
- Experience working with ERP/ MRP systems like ORACLE, SAP etc
- Work with different departments to coordinate the daily activities and resolve any issues.
- Manage workload , schedule management and all personnel documentation, shifts, overtime, and vacation requests.
- A customer-focused supervisor with demonstrated ability to schedule, forecast and meet deadlines.
- A seasoned, experienced leader who can select, teach, coach and mentor a workforce to support quality-driven, customer focused operations.
- Review current manufacturing processes, evaluate efficiency and gap analysis. Create and implement improvements and clear documentation of work instructions.
- A person with a sense of urgency and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
- High energy and action oriented.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Exposure to lean Manufacturing principles
- Conversant with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
- Conversant with ITAR requirements
